Once an NFL coach, there’s always a pull to the pro league despite being in college football. Former Arizona Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury recently made headlines following his interest in the Philadelphia Eagles’ vacant role. After one season with the USC Trojans as the senior offensive analyst, the 44-year-old may be taking another leap into the NFL.

Kliff Kingsbury’s name has been consistently surfacing on social media lately despite his not-so-successful coaching career. He already had a past with both the NFL and NCAA as the HC but his records still need some polishing. Would he be able to live up to the hype if he becomes the Eagles’ new OC?

After one season with OC Brian Johnson, the Eagles are in the market looking for a new offensive coordinator post. A recent Twitter post by Mike Garafolo revealed that the Eagles just completed an interview with USC senior offensive analyst Kliff Kingsbury for the OC job today. However, the interview was not in person as it was conducted in a virtual meeting.

Kingsbury has previously interviewed with the Chicago Bears for the OC role but he didn’t get the position. Instead, it was former Seattle Seahawks OC Shane Waldron who got the opportunity to coach the Bears’ offense. As of now, reports await as Kingsbury remains available for the OC role until he makes his decision.

The dismal performance followed him to college football in 2023 at USC where the Trojans’ record fell from 11-3 in 2022 to 8-5 in 2023. If he gets the Eagles’ OC role, he’ll be tasked with reviving the team’s offense that culminated in an 11-6 record in the 2023 season.
