Jim Harbaugh is settling into his new role as the Los Angeles Chargers head coach after leading the Michigan Wolverines to an undefeated National Championship season. He’s surrounded by players and staff with a winning attitude wherever he goes. It’s no wonder why he took key coaching staff members like Jesse Minter and Ben Herbert when he left for LA.

Recent news reports indicate that Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers are likely to select Marvin Harrison Jr. or Malik Nabers as their first-round pick. But what about the subsequent picks? Would Harbaugh choose his Michigan players rather than draft players with whom he has no experience? Let’s look at some Michigan players entering the 2024 NFL Draft this year who might make it to the Chargers roster.

With over 10 players leaving Michigan to enter the NFL this season, some might find a home in LA for a reunion with their former HC. While Jim Harbaugh hails QB JJ McCarthy, the Chargers do not need a QB because they already have their crown jewel in Justin Herbert. But what about players at other positions? Per the YouTube channel Sports Talk Chargers, there’s a good chance his eyes would be on some of the following players with whom he won the National Championship.

RB Blake Corum

According to the insight provided by Sports Talk Chargers on Blake Corum, “He’s quick, he’s strong, he’s low to the ground, an incredible running back. If Jim Harbaugh has a chance to grab him, he will because he’s that good.” Blake Corum performed well last season, rushing for 1,245 yards and set the program record with 27 TDs. He’s entering the NFL after setting 58 rushing scores. His speed, vision, and patience make him a worthy prospect in his former coach’s team.

WR Cornelius Johnson

Many football fans may not know Cornelius Johnson, although “he’s a really good receiver that most people don’t know about.” But he’s entering the 2024 NFL Draft with an incredible unofficial #RAS score of 9.90 out of 10.00. This puts him at No. 32 among 3,063 WRs from 1987 to 2024.

CB Mike Sainristil

Jim Harbaugh brought Jesse Minter to his team, and Sainristil was a crucial player in his defensive role and played a significant role in the National Championship win. He might want to reunite the two to secure a potential winning roster for the Chargers.

Last season, he recorded 37 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks, which his former head coach might want to sign up for.
