And the legacy of Peyton Manning continues to build. Even after stepping out of the field, Peyton Manning did not stop making miracles work. Just this time, his miracles changed the lives of people. Away from the white lines, Manning created a small world of his own, the PeyBack foundation, through which he has joined hands with numerous charities, especially emphasizing youth empowerment, education, and leadership. All the altruism deserved a big shoutout from the legends of football to mark the addition of another award on Manning’s shelves.
He was honored with Mizel Institute’s Community Enrichment Award in Colorado, an honor given to those who have contributed exemplarily toward the community and brought about a positive change in the lives of others. “The community is where it all starts. If it wasn’t for the community, what would we have?” Deion Sanders said, presenting his two cents on the cause. Giving applause to Peyton Manning, Prime remarked how Manning has changed lives both on and off the field. “He’s not scared to tackle different situations and circumstances and he has always been on the front line,” Sanders added. However, Sanders wasn’t the only one singing praises for Manning, some big names from the Broncos also came in to show support for the former player.

Other legends didn’t shy away from praising the Broncos legend for achieving the milestone. “He’s one in a million.” Mike Shanahan, the former Broncos head coach, admitted about Manning. Tony Dungy, the former Colts’ head coach, couldn’t agree more, as he explained how serious and personal charity is for Manning.

“He gets involved and he gets involved with his whole being. It’s not just giving money or donating to a cause. When he knows something is important, he is there 100% to support it. I just love that about him that he brings attention to the causes that are really, really important to this community,” Dungy said. Looking at the charitable deeds the PayBack Foundation has done throughout the years, Dungy’s words truly sound 100% true.
The PeyBack Foundation
Founded by Peyton Manning and his wife, Ashley, back in 1999, the PeyBack Foundation has aided several disadvantaged children and youth across Colorado, Indiana, Tennessee, and Louisiana. After-school programs, foster children, scholarships, hospitals, and everything surrounding their well-being get funds from the PeyBack Foundation.

“Community service is important, and that’s sort of engrained into you when you’re playing in the NFL. And then when you stop playing, you have even more time to do it,” Peyton Manning said while receiving the award, speaking about how he got into serving the community.
Further extending upon his service in Colorado, Manning added, “I just really have enjoyed my 12 years in Denver, Colorado. The community really embraced me and our family when we got here in 2012, and so it’s been a very easy return the favor to give back to the community.” With Peyton Manning being so dedicated to serving the community, the day of May 22, 2024, was rightfully declared the ‘Peyton Manning Day’ by Larry A. Mizel.
