‘The Best QB in Michigan history’, per Jim Harbaugh, is set to commence his NFL journey with a bedazzling National Championship adorning his resume. Although JJ McCarthy securing a position as a top-round pick is reported by multiple sources, his selection remains one of the most awaited in college football.

Well, McCarthy has already garnered ovations from several personalities, but being compared to the GOAT can be considered an accolade in itself. Especially when it’s coming from one of his own teammates.

The #2 jersey at Michigan is a fan of the team’s QB’s skills. Blake Corum, Wolverines rushing back, said the same on Fox News Digital: “J.J. is just a great quarterback. Wants to learn, wants to get better, will not stop until he does. Whatever round he gets drafted, I think he’s a first-rounder for sure, great quarterback, great leader,” stated Corum. The QBs at Michigan always have tough competition as their alma matter has been home to the best ever, including the GOAT Tom Brady.

And Corum wasn’t shying away from putting his QB in the last few years on that pedestal. “I think he’ll have a super-long career. Maybe a Tom Brady, we’ll see,” opined the rushing back.

Per Corum, McCarthy has big shoes to fill in. Especially when Brady himself has confided in him. As a reply to Harbaugh’s claim of McCarthy being the best QB, Brady responded with an affirmative “Go Blue!!! No Doubt!!!” Well, the world of the NFL is where the real pressure channels in. With the hype McCarthy has created surrounding his NFL debut, the team he selects would be the key factor in how his career kicks off.

McCarthy’s wanted-ness in the league is no secret. Since the projection of him being a first-round pick has been released, teams have sprung to action to get McCarthy on board. Per Marca, several teams have already completed preliminary meetings with the QB.

The top competitors for JJ McCarthy are the New York Giants and the Las Vegas Raiders. The Giants are selecting sixth overall, hence their wager around players like Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and potentially Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels.

The Raiders, on the other hand, have set their standards high. So much so that even Jimmy Garopollo couldn’t reach it. However, given the faith the team has in their rookie QB Aiden O’Connell, McCarthy also has a promising term there.
