Daniеl Jonеs’ uncеrtain futurе
The incumbent starting quarterback Daniel Jones had a disappointing season, and the Giants are exploring alternative options for the starting QB role in the upcoming 2024 season. Despite Jones’ regression and ongoing injury concerns (ACL tear), the organization took a significant step towards change by acquiring former Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks QB Drew Lock.
While Lock has been presented with the opportunity to compete for the starting position in training camp, reports suggest that the Giants are not ruling out the possibility of selecting a quarterback with their top pick in the upcoming draft. Among the prospects under consideration is J.J. McCarthy, whose impressive stats in 2023 include an impressive performance with 2,991 passing yards, 202 rushing yards, 25 total touchdowns, 4 interceptions, and a 167.4 passer rating. Moreover, he had a pivotal role in leading Michigan to a National Championship victory which earned him considerable attention.
