The hype around Jayden Daniels continues to grow as the Draft draws near. With only days away from his Pro Day performance, Daniels is already projected to be a top-3 QB pick. As such, the teams’ race to acquire him has never been more crucial and it looks like the Patriots are the leading contenders.
Jayden Daniels, the QB for the LSU Tigers, has been the franchise player for the team. He performed tremendously in the 2023 season with over 3,812 passing yards and finishing a staggering number of 40 touchdowns. There is no doubt about the fact that he’s an incredible talent and it isn’t too shocking either that the Patriots are wasting no time in trying to bring the QB to Massachusets.

Today’s a good day to be a Patriots fan as a recent update about Jayden Daniels will get them riled up. The 2023 Heisman Trophy winner is projected to be a top 3 pick right behind Caleb Williams and Drake Maye. Seeing as the Draft team order is- the Chicago Bears, the Washington Commanders, and the New England Patriots, it seems highly probable that Daniels might just end up at the former home of Tom Brady.

In a recent report, it has been revealed that Daniels will be sitting down with the Patriots’ staff right after he finishes his Pro Day performance. Jayden Daniels didn’t throw or practice any of the drills at the NFL Combine and as such, fans are going to be thrilled to witness him in action. But more so than anyone, it’ll be the men of Jerod Mayo who will be looking to bring Daniels home. With all that said, the former GM for the New York Jets believes that the Pats shouldn’t rush into playing Daniels right off the bat, which certainly raises a few eyebrows.
“I have concerns about his build”- Mike Tannenbaum expresses a hesitant opinion on Jayden Daniels
If things go as predicted, then it will mean Jayden Daniels being with the New England Patriots. The Pats’ current starting QBs are Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe, whose mentorship could mold Daniels’s game into a much better shape for the NFL. But as of now, Tannenbaum believes that Daniels shouldn’t be given the responsibility of the starting QB in the Patriots.

He said, “I have concerns about his build — he was listed at 6-4, 210 pounds at LSU and didn’t weigh in at the combine — and he needs to add weight to withstand the rigors of an NFL season. But I really like the idea of Jacoby Brissett already being in New England, which would allow the Pats to let Daniels develop, there’s no rush or rule that says he has to play right out of the gate.” Thus, all eyes will be on the Heisman Trophy winner as he tries to stand up to the expectations of a Super Bowl that will be put in front of him.
