The Notre Dame stars might be headed to the former home of the legendary Tom Brady as the NFL Draft draws closer. With the franchise offensive tackles being mentored by a Patriots’ coach, things have never been more exciting for the Draft prospects.

Joe Alt and Blake Fisher are the prized jewels arising out of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish team but one of them is more in the limelight than the other. Joe Alt is predicted to be the number 1 offensive tackle in the 2023 class. While Alt outshines Fisher, the Pats’ coach didn’t seem to have favorites as he was seen instructing both of the OTs with enthusiasm.

On the occasion of Notre Dame’s Pro Day, both Joe Alt and Blake Fisher’s interaction with Scott Peters insinuates a bright future for the youngsters. While each of the two is the top tackle of the team, Joe Alt takes the cake with a much better Draft prospect in his hands. In the words of an AFC personnel executive, “Fisher is the more naturally talented of the Notre Dame tackles, but (Joe) Alt is much more consistent and technically sound.”

But it looks like the New England Patriots seem to be particularly interested in both of them instead of just Alt. The offensive line coach for Jerod Mayo’s team, Scott Peters, was seen giving tips and training the duo on their Pro Day. As such, this exchange between the two parties indicates that the Patriots might be bringing Notre Dame’s mighty offense to the NFL.

While Scott Peters was seen being especially close with Alt, it seems like the New York Jets are the most obvious choice for the youngster’s landing spot. Don’t believe it? Here are Mike Francesa’s strong words about the Jets’ signing Alt to convince you otherwise.

“Jets should be shot”: Mike Francesa’s strong words for Joe Alt’s future

Since the Jets have the 10th overall pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, they should select offensive tackle Joe Alt, according to Mike Francesa. The beloved radio show host left no ambiguities included in his argument for Joe Alt’s future in the NFL.

He said, “He’s probably gonna be there for the Jets. If the Jets get the good fortune of Alt being there at 10, if they don’t take him, they should be shot. And if Alt’s there, pop the champagne corks, because that will be a home run. That will be a guy who will be a 10-year starter, maybe a 14-year starter — a multiple-time All-Pro. He is a can’t-miss player on the offensive line. Can’t miss. Right pedigree, right everything.” Thus, even though Francesa’s words were a bit extreme, he sure is right about Alt’s talent and how he’ll be a right fit for the New York Jets.
