The future of Drake Maye seems to be bright in the NFL as he prepares to step into the pro leagues. As per several NFL Mock Drafts, he is projected to be a top-3 QB pick, faring right behind the likes of Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels or J.J. McCarthy. And with all 32 teams seeking Maye, the Giants seem to be the hungriest to bring in the QB.

Drake Maye, the quarterback for the North Carolina Tar Heels, was a fantastic leader for the team back in the 2023 season. The standout QB threw out over 3,608 passing yards and finished an impressive number of 24 touchdowns. Now that he’s declared for the NFL Draft, he will be looking to make a name for himself as teams like the Patriots, the Vikings, and the Giants continue to put up a fight for him.

The New York Giants are strongly interested in Drake Maye?

As per a recent report, the New York Giants might be willing to trade up in hopes of picking Drake Maye. Since the Giants have the 6th pick overall at this year’s NFL Draft, it will be difficult to land the Tar Heels’ QB since he’s already projected to be a 3rd QB pick. And since the Patriots are rumored to be pushing for McCarthy or Daniels with their 3rd pick, there’s a good chance that Maye could end up with the Giants.

Even though it’ll be a surprise if the Commanders end up passing Maye, the Giants will have to convince the Patriots strongly to move up from the number 6 spot to number 3 to try and bring in Maye. In case Maye isn’t available to the Patriots, it will be interesting to see whether the Giants will be willing to make the same efforts for either Jayden Daniels or J.J. McCarthy. While the Giants are depending on the Patriots to agree to a trade for Maye, it doesn’t look like Jerod Mayo’s team has any plans to let him go.

Drake Maye recently met up with the New England Patriots on a top-30 visit

As per Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, the Patriots invited Drake Maye to the official top-30 visit on Friday. While they have shown considerable interest in LSU’s Jayden Daniels, it definitely looks like they’re planning to keep all their options open. Plus, when Maye met with the team’s staff at the NFL Combine, he had nothing but appreciation for the Patriots.

Maye said, “I was really impressed with them. Coach Mayo, I first congratulated him. Anytime you become a new head coach is a pretty cool experience. So, just being in there, and New England is obviously a great sports town, and to meet with them, I thought it went well. I think New England’s a great spot.” Thus, even though Daniels seems like the most probable pick for the Patriots, it is evident that Maye has also feined interest in the team that has 6 Super Bowls to its name.
