The NFL Draft is only 19 days away and the stakes have never been higher. All the 32 teams are eyeing the youngsters’ futures as they try to make it big in the league of the pros. But the New York Jets will be facing a dilemma in choosing between Brock Bowers and Rome Odunze since they’re both talented in their own right.

Brock Bowers, the tight end for the Georgia Bulldogs, made a huge name for himself after the 2023 season. He was a two-time national championship winner in 2021 and 2022. As for Rome Odunze, the wide receiver for the Washington Huskies ranked himself right next to the likes of Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers after a phenomenal final season at Washington with 13 touchdowns to his name. And now both of these stars will be competing to be the Jets’ 10th pick in the upcoming highly anticipated Draft.

As per a recent report, the Jets’ management will be looking to improve their offensive impact on the gridiron and they’ll hope to find a solution with either Odunze or Bowers. Moreover, it would make perfect sense for the Jets to draft either of the two since Aaron Rodgers will be turning 41 years old in December, which leaves a lot to be said about his career’s prime.

Since the Jets have the 10th pick overall in this year’s draft, they will have a crucial decision to make about picking Odunze or going with Bowers. Even though Odunze is an up-and-coming generational talent, the fans seem to think that the Jets should go with Bowers as the next TE for the team. But it should also be noted that Brock Bowers does have one particular issue according to Matt Miller, who also drew a comparison between him and the Chiefs’ TE, Travis Kelce.

“He’s quite a bit smaller”: Matt Miller compares Bowers to Travis Kelce amid NFL future speculations

The 21-year-old Bowers was the spine behind his team’s success back in the 2023 season. He had 56 receptions to his name and covered over 714 receiving yards. He’s drawn in comparisons with the Chiefs’ star TE Travis Kelce before but Matt Miller believes he still has one obstacle to overcome and that is his physical size.

Miller said, “He’s quite a bit smaller. I think that’s something that gets overlooked. Travis is 6ft 5in and his weight has changed throughout his career, he’s dropped some weight. Brock Bowers was barely 6ft 1in, just a little over 240 pounds. He’s actually kind of undersized for his position. He’s probably a 4.6 to 4.7 guy (in the 40-yard dash), which is good, really good. But he’s not this transcendent athlete.” Thus, as the Jets’ picking either Odunze or Bower’s conversations continue, it is evident that the ESPN analyst believes that there’s a lot more Bowers needs to improve upon before stepping into the NFL.
