The Buffs lose a sense of unity on Xavier Weaver’s Pro Day, which could make or break his career in the NFL. It is difficult to speculate why the star quarterback for the team chose to not help out his teammate but as far as Weaver’s future is concerned, he’ll be the master of his fate as he focuses on blowing the scouts away on his Pro Day.

Shedeur Sanders, the quarterback for the Colorado Buffaloes, is an explosive athlete who was a pivotal part of the team’s minuscule success. Back in the 2023 season, he became one of the top contenders for the Heisman Trophy as well before bowing out to LSU’s Jayden Daniels. Now that he is preparing for his last season with the Buffs, the fans expected better from him rather than choosing to sit in the stands and watch the action unfurl.

It is a disappointing day for the Colorado fans today as their star quarterback won’t be showing up to support his fellow teammate. Since Shedeur didn’t declare for the Draft this year, there’s no reason to be at Xavier Weaver’s Pro Day except for moral support. Alas! The franchise QB will do nothing but be a witness from the stands as a total of 11 NFL teams show up to see Weaver’s talent.

As per a recent report, teams like the Broncos, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Arizona Cardinals, the New York Giants, etc are some of the many other teams that will attend Weaver’s Pro Day performance. The WR has been a pivotal force behind the Buffs’ glory but declared for the Draft right after the end of the 2023 season. Hopefully, he lands up with a top-tier team while Coach Prime’s team loses out on a phenomenal wide receiver for the upcoming season.

Interestingly enough, after his Pro Day performance, Xavier Weaver talked about the QB crisis that he faced a night before his big day and subtly threw shade on the famed Shedeur Sanders.

“You know how that work”: Xavier Weaver takes a subtle dig at Shedeur Sanders?

After an incredible performance at the Pro Day, Xavier Weaver looked incredibly joyous during his interview. The youngster seemed to be especially pleased with his 40-yard dash which he clocked in at an impressive time of 4.42 seconds. The WR even talked about how there wasn’t any quarterback to throw out to him until John Matocha, the QB for the Colorado Mines Orediggers, came to the rescue.

Weaver said, “Shout out to that boy man. Last night they told me last minute around 9:30 at night that the other quarterback that we have flaked on me. So you know, we and my agents went scrambling and tried to get somebody else but they couldn’t make it. And you know, we called him at 10:30 at night. He answered the phone and was able to get up here, so big shout out to him.” The reporter followed up with a question that asked him if he tried to get Shedeur to fill in and Weaver laughed it off and said, “Ahh you know how that work.” His words seem to hint that the QB was too busy to come and help out a friend but since Weaver’s Pro Day went brilliantly, there shouldn’t be any sort of bad blood between the teammates.
