The injury was detected during medical evaluations at the event, which will prevent McKinstry from participating in on-field workouts.

Rapoport has assured fans that McKinstry should be fully recovered before the NFL season kicks off, stating, “McKinstry won’t work out in Indy, but will do so at his Pro Day and then get it fixed. He explained that “A Jones fracture is a fracture of the 5th metatarsal towards the middle of the foot. These are not uncommon and always require surgery due to a poor blood supply and hindering healing. Regarding McKinstry’s draft prospects, he’s been in that gray area of mid to late first-round or even an early second-round pick in most mock drafts. A good workout later today could have increased his chances of being selected on Day 1. However, despite McKinstry’s absence from on-field drills, Alabama will have safety Jaylen Key and Arnold participating in Friday’s session, commencing at 2 p.m. CT on NFL Network.
