It is a sad, sad day for the entire college football community as it marks two weeks since the passing of a former wide receiver. Keith Miller III, a very dear friend of Brendan Rice, passed away due to undisclosed reasons. While the Trojans’ WR’s future will be decided today, he has decided to put his football career on hold for his friend’s funeral.

Keith Miller III played two years with the Colorado Buffaloes as a wide receiver and went on to play two more years at the Texas A&M Commerce. On April 11, the news of Miller’s death hit the papers as the player was met with his untimely demise in his apartment near the TAMUC campus. He was Brendan Rice’s best friend and while he was supposed to be suited up for the Draft today, he is suited up to present a eulogy for Miller.

Brendan Rice is in Dallas for Miller’s funeral

While the NFL Draft Day was supposed to be one of the most important events in his entire career, Brenden chose to pay his homage to his best friend and head to Dallas to give a eulogy at his funeral. Keith Miller III tragically passed away two weeks ago and since today is the day of his funeral, Rice spent the day with his family in their last moments of grief and goodbyes.

Reportedly, Brenden will be responding to the call about his NFL future directly from the funeral itself, and yet, his thoughts and prayers will continue to stick with his best friend who is gone too soon. The former WR for the Texas A&M Commerce was known to be enduring a tough mental battle with something before finally passing on. With all that said, here’s a look at the promise that Brendan has made to the late Miller, which has brought the fans to the verge of tears.

Calia Jae, the girlfriend of Keith, revealed that the former Texas receiver was struggling tremendously due to mental illnesses. She took to Instagram and wrote, “‘Keith was mentally battling something that not me or even his mom could help him with. I have done everything I could I as his partner to try to help him during his battle but ultimately God has the final say so.

Rice and Miller began their college careers together with Colorado before going their separate ways. Rice also took to Instagram to share a post featuring some of the pair’s photos. He captioned it with, “Forever with you Brotha❤️‍🩹🕊️ Rest in power Keith Issac Miller III

Later, Brenden posted an image of Keith and his son Luka and made a bitter-sweet promise publicly. He wrote, “Luka gone be straight I got him” While a bright future awaits the son of the legendary Jerry Rice, Brenden is taking a world of responsibility on his head in honor of his best friend, which is commendable to say the very least.
