He played a pivotal role in securing a 15-0 winning streak and finally winning the national championship for the team. Under Harbaugh’s guidance, he was the supposed best QB in the NCAA and even after both of them have decided to move to the NFL, his coach’s words of appreciation are still helping him out to this day.

After an interesting statement by Jim Harbaugh, the Michigan star’s draft stock will rise expeditiously after his Pro-Day performance. Earlier, McCarthy was predicted to be a top 10 draft, with the number 6 being the most probable position. But with both his NFL Combine and Pro Day performances combined, JJ is set to make a huge name for himself in the upcoming Draft.

As per the mock draft released by Bucky Brooks, J.J. McCarthy should be a top 3 pick right behind Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels. This update comes after Jim Harbaugh’s praise for the QB spread far and wide. At the AFC Coaches breakfast, Harbaugh was heard saying, “The workout that J.J. had… I’ve been to a lot of Pro Day workouts and watched quarterbacks throw. He said, “I’m a pretty unique guy when it comes to the quarterback position with the meditation and all that. (Teams) are gravitating toward that, it seems like. With all this added pressure that comes with being a franchise quarterback and being drafted and all that, it just brings me back to the roots of, ‘Hey, this is just a game at the end of the day. When you zoom out on planet Earth and look down, all this pressure that you’re feeling really isn’t there at the end of the day.” All eyes will be on the star of the Michigan Wolverines as he’s making waves in the Draft conversations, with some of them even claiming that the 2023 Heisman contender should be the number 1 pick.
