A Georgia prodigy is making a name for himself as the best tight-end conversations continue to uphold his name. With the NFL Draft closing in with only 22 days away, the TE Brock Bowers is drawing a lot of appreciation, particularly from the former Raiders’ GM.
Brock Bowers, the tight end for the Georgia Bulldogs, earned an exceptional reputation with the 2023 season. He completed over 56 receptions and covered a total of 714 yards. Additionally, he ranks as the number 7 overall prospect as a projected Draft pick, and with Mike Mayock comparing him to Lamar Jackson, Bowers might just be heading toward a great NFL career.

On the latest episode of the ‘3 and Out’ show, host John Middlekauff and Mike Mayock discussed the best teams for Georgia TE Brock Bowers and compared him to top WR picks like Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers. Later, the segment saw Mayock praising Bowers and comparing him to the Ravens’ QB Lamar Jackson.
He said, ” He’s a gifted dude in the passing game and he will compete in the run game. Is he a top-10 pick? I think on paper or talent-wise, yes he is and I don’t care what you call him. You mentioned Lamar Jackson a minute ago, and you said it’s lucky Baltimore drafted him. Well, to Baltimore’s credit, they’ve created a whole offensive scheme around what he does well. That’s what Greg Roman was good at. Some of the things they did to put Lamar in position to win and that’s the same thing with Bowers. You got to put him in a position to win. You got to take advantage of what he does really well and that’s win in the past game and I think he’s special.”
Thus, Mayock believes that even though Bowers won’t be a top pick in the Draft, he has all the potential to go on to be one of the NFL greats. Moreover, it looks like the Bowers praise train isn’t coming to a stop anytime soon as ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. hops aboard.

Mel Kiper resonates with Mayock’s thoughts on Bowers
There is no doubt about the fact that Bowers is Georgia’s stand-out player. He has garnered a lot of appreciation for being an explosive athlete who seems to be good at every role in the field. Bowers is predicted to be a part of the first round of the Draft and him being picked by the New York Jets at number 10 overall is the most probable situation.
One of the NFL’s authority figures, Mel Kiper Jr., talked about Bowers’ incredible prowess and said, “Give me a break. He’s just a tight end? He’s everything. Watch him play. You can use him in the backfield. You can put him anywhere on the football field. He is a nightmare trying to match up with. I don’t care where he goes, he’s going to be a whale of a pick.” Thus, Bowers is on his way to being a top contender among WRs as the NFL Draft seems to be inches away from deciding the youngster’s future in the NFL.
