“JJ McCarthy expected to be drafted within the top 6 picks of this year’s draft” was the prediction of NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah. JJ McCarthy is currently a notorious name when it comes to the NFL draft since all the praise he is garnering is also being countered by the criticisms. Amidst this, Jeremiah’s prediction came as a huge slap to the naysayers’ faces. They might as well get ready for some serious hits since McCarthy is not planning on slowing down in his NFL journey anytime soon.

According to Jordan Schultz’s reports, the QB visited the New York Giants last week for the final talks regarding the NFL draft. The player and the front office staff reportedly indulged in a dinner and a facility tour. The Giants have the No. 6 pick in the 2024 NFL draft. Connor Huges of SNY reported that ‘McCarthy is a player that Giants want’. McCarthy coming out of a fresh National Championship win and a heavy offense would sit well with the Giants wanting to bounce back the next season.

As a major challenge to this, the Washington Commanders, with the No. 2 pick in the draft, have also scheduled a dinner rendezvous with McCarthy for which the franchise officials would be flying out to Ann Arbour on Thursday night. If the Commanders and McCarthy successfully strike a deal, it would be a douse down on the Giants’ aspirations of having McCarthy. However, being at No. 2, the Commanders would also have other highly wanted picks like Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels available. Per several reports, the Commanders are most likely to pick either Maye or Daniels and then wait for the second round to pick McCarthy. If they do so, the Giants would be ready to lock him at No.6.

This makes it a cutthroat competition for both teams. The best part? Even though they are the toughest competitors, they are not the only ones in the JJ McCarthy race.
