Taking to Instagram to share his heartfelt goodbye, Harris expressed gratitude for the opportunities and experiences football had afforded him, particularly under the tutelage of Nick Saban and Bill Belichick. “For the past 20 years, playing the game of football has been one of the greatest privileges of my life,” Harris reflected in his social media post.

“competing at the highest level with and against the best competitors, while winning championships and being coached by the two greatest head coaches of all time in Nick Saban and Bill Belichick, are all just a small part of what God has done in my life through the game of football. Today I am gratеful I have found strength to walk away from thе game I lovе so much,” concluded Harris. Damien Harris was drafted out of Alabama in the third round of the 2019 NFL draft and spent the first four seasons of his professional career with the New England Patriots before joining the Buffalo Bills. During his tenure with the Patriots, he played 38 games, starting 34, and significantly contributed to the team’s success.

Before his professional career, he was a force to be reckoned with at Alabama, where he rushed for over 3,000 yards and 75 touchdowns in 54 games. He played a pivotal role in securing two national championship titles for the Crimson Tide in 2015 and 2017 and was recognized for his talent with an All-SEC Second Team selection in 2018.
