The 2024 NFL Draft buzz is all about USC quarterback Caleb Williams. USC Trojan’s quarterback is also hailed as the “next Mahomes.” But Williams is also raising eyebrows for his personality. Some compare him to stars like Aaron Rodgers and Antonio Brown, known for their quirks.

Brown’s drama, from tweets to shirtless exits, and Rodgers’ near-retirement for a game show, leave a lasting impression. Williams also has his own moments. While Williams’ personal style, like painted nails or crying on the stands with his mom, isn’t unusual, his actions at the NFL Combine stand out. Despite these “red flags,” the Chicago Bears, with the top pick, seem unfazed and likely to draft him.

Many consider Caleb Williams a “once-in-a-generation player.” However, concerns swirl around how he mimics Aaron Rodgers and Antonio Brown’s “bizarre behavior.” In a recent YouTube video, it’s highlighted that Williams’ father initially hinted he might not even enter the draft. However, he quickly reversed course and declared, likely knowing his current status as the #1 overall prospect.

Also, landing with the Chicago Bears seems likely, as they hold the top pick. However, “Williams would still like tweets suggesting that he would prefer to go to a different team than the Chicago Bears… maybe the Washington Commanders.” Not just that, his actions at the NFL Combine also raised eyebrows. Williams skipped throwing drills and medical exams. His explanation – “Not all 32 teams can draft me” – didn’t convince many. Usually, NFL Draft prospects share their medical records with all teams at the Combine. Some people compare this to Aaron Rodgers breaking COVID rules and partying with teammates. Despite these concerns, the Chicago Bears seem set on drafting Caleb Williams.

Earlier “likes” on social media suggested Williams might not be interested in playing for the Chicago Bears, who hold the top pick. However, he’s since clarified those posts. In fact, Williams has spoken positively about the Bears before the Combine. It seems he’s simply keeping track of those questioning his fit with the team. While Williams might be a little peculiar, his Heisman win in 2022 speaks for itself. The Bears are likely looking past his personality and focusing on his immense talent. After all, his skills in the field could be a major benefit to the franchise. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments below.
