The father-son duo of Deion and Shedeur Sanders has never been more appreciated. While Shedeur does seem to be an independent person with a life full of personalized luxuries, when it comes to his football career, he listens blindly to what his father, the legendary Coach Prime has to say. And with Lebron James and his son soon to play in the same league, the NFL fans can’t help but speculate about Shedeur’s future.

Shedeur Sanders, the quarterback for the Colorado Buffaloes, is an exceptional talent who was the spine behind his team’s minuscule amount of success last season. With Shedeur leading the team as a starting QB, the team finished with a poor 4-8 record but the youngster’s resilience and drive were sure to be commended. Now, the 2023 Heisman contender is drawing comparisons to Bronny James, as both of the athletes have been playing on the college level since last year but only one of them is moving ahead with the 2024 Draft.

The world of the NBA will have all eyes on Bronny James as he finally steps into his legendary father’s league. He started to play for the USC Trojans in the 2023 season but even though his eligibility is still valid; he has chosen to make the jump toward the NBA, where he might be playing with the all-time greats this year.

Moreover, for the NFL fans, it puts the relationship of Deion Sanders and Shedeur in perspective. Shedeur Sanders could very well have had a good shot at being picked by a top-tier NFL team if he chose to declare for the 2024 Draft but instead, he will play at Colorado for his final year of eligibility under Coach Prime.

While a lot of the basketball fans are criticizing Bronny for not being ready enough, the football fans seem especially pleased with the Buffs’ QB for respecting Deion’s wishes to continue in his last year rather than jumping ship to join the NFL. Moreover, to put things in perspective as to how much of a say Deion has about his players’ futures, here’s a look at his recent statement about the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Colorado Buffaloes didn’t have the most exceptional run last season but Shedeur and Travis have made a huge name for themselves in the college football world. With both of them among the top-5 On3 rankings, they’re huge contenders for the next year’s NFL Draft. Even though both of them will play their last year with Colorado this year and they are yet to make a mark on the points table, Deion has high hopes for the players and won’t allow them to go to certain teams as per his disliking.

Deion said, “I know where I want them to go. So, it’s certain cities that ain’t going to happen. There were certain cities that fit. Atlanta fit, and I want that for my kids. All of them. I want the right fit. It was the first time I saw Black people in positions of authority. It blew my mind. It was real in Atlanta. I had never seen anything like that in my life.” Moreover, Deion believes that Shedeur and Travis will both be sitting among the top four picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, with either of the two as the number one pick. Deion sure seems to sound confident about the pair even though they have yet to prove themselves against the harshness of the gridiron.
