Smith, about his perspective that surrounds Zion Williamson not ‘feeling like Zion’, as he is lacking commitment to conditioning himself. He further went on to say that is more about the player missing over a hundred games in the NBA because of his injuries.

Smith said, “What I would tell you is I wasn’t happy with what I heard him say. He’s got to understand something. People are not questioning whether or not he wants to play. That’s not the question mark about Zion. The issue with Zion is that people are looking at him and saying, ‘You’ve missed a 169 games in your career so far.’ You missed all of last season only played 29 games this year. The injury history of Zion Williamson

Williamson has been out of the game since January 2, because of a right hamstring strain. But this is not the only time the player has been injured. While still in his rookie season in 2019, Williamson tore his meniscus. Then in 2020, he suffered from a fractured thumb. The next year he missed out on the entire season because he fractured his right foot. Now, he is on the sidelines again, facing both a mental barrier as well as a physical one. Because of fracturing his right leg, he even missed his NBA playoff debut during the Pelicans’ post-season trip in 2021-22.
