The Kansas City Chiefs led by their valiant quarterback Patrick Mahomes lifted their second Lombardi in four years. And Mahomes powered through a major ankle injury to do so. Looks like he is carrying the ankle injury curse with him as Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James had some words for him recently in a courtside interaction during an NBA game.

King James heard his ankle pop in the recent game against the Dallas Mavericks. And guess who was present on the courtside to witness the intriguing matchup? 2x Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes. It seems like LeBron felt Patrick’s pain after the injury. However, he also drew the required motivation from Mahomes after a NSFW conversation they shared courtside during an inbound.

LeBron James had some choice words for PM15

The NFL World will remember Patrick Mahomes’ 2022 end-of-the-season heroics for a long time. The Chiefs’ signal-caller suffered a high ankle sprain in their divisional-round clash against the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, the Warrior Chief pushed through the pain, beating the Bengals in the AFC Championship before defeating the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 on February 12 to claim the world championship.

Even during the Super Bowl, Mahomes suffered a major hit on his injured right ankle in the first half. But that wasn’t stopping him.

“There’s nothing that’s gonna keep me off that football field,” Mahomes told Terry Bradshaw, during the Lombardi Trophy presentation. And LeBron James watched and absorbed the motivation. When Bron injured his right foot against Kyrie and Luka’s Mavericks on Sunday, he powered through the crucial game just like Patrick. And the Lakers completed their biggest comeback since 2002, reversing a 27-point Dallas lead to win 111-108.

At one point, LBJ came to the courtside to inbound the ball. And when he saw Patrick Mahomes cheering for the Mavericks, as he religiously does, the two engaged in a friendly banter. “You are not the only one playing with a f****d up ankle. Nah, Nah. Let’s make a bet, alright,” the 4x NBA Champion said to Mahomes as the two shared a laugh after.

LBJ will bear the brunt of his injury, unlike Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes made it with the injuries through the most critical moments this year. However, the same can’t be said for Bron. In fact, James could be sidelined for a few weeks following the impact. James limped out of the arena after the game and even uploaded a story on his Instagram showing his injured ankle.

The Lakers are now 5-10 without LeBron after their loss last night to the Memphis Grizzlies. The Gold and Purple fanbase needs King James back to aid Anthony Davis and rescue whatever remaining hopes they have of making the play-ins this season, if not the playoffs.

Chief Mahomes is done with the season and the celebrations. With his new Netflix documentary releasing soon, the quarterback will probably be caught up in the off-season with some promotional work.
