The recent Twitter verified fiasco has everybody talking, sports world or otherwise. Twitter has discontinued the legacy verified accounts and many prominent people have lost their blue check marks. While some got their verified status back, many are still without them. And the wide receiver has called the Twitter owner on his bias for one league over another.

Tyreek Hill sent a message to Elon Musk after Twitter removed all the legacy verified tags from the platform. In a cryptic tweet, he asked why the Twitter owner bought the verified tag for NBA legend LeBron James and not for the “best QB in the NFL.”

Who exactly is he talking about? Most of the NFL QBs have lost their tags after the revamp. His former teammate Patrick Mahomes is on that list and so are others like Lamar Jackson, Geno Smith and Aaron Rodgers. Even Brock Purdy and Hill’s current QB Tua Tagovailoa don’t have the verified tag anymore. So the explosive WR might be talking about anyone.

Hill understood the confusion his tweet caused among the fans. In a follow-up tweet, he laughed at the fact that fans are unable to figure out who he is talking about.

Musk has apparently paid for the Twitter Blue subscription of some celebrities, including James, who had previously refused to pay for the service. And Hill doesn’t like the fact that the list doesn’t include NFL stars.

When Musk announced his plans for a paid verified service, both James and King refused to pay for it. King had gone even further, saying that it was Twitter who should pay him to be on the platform. But both of them had their blue ticks intact on Thursday.
