The dreams and aspirations of the NY Jets for this season took a remarkably different turn. Star QB Aaron Rodgers made his Big Apple debut, only to be sidelined for the entire season due to an unfortunate injury sustained during what seemed like a normal sack by the Bills‘ Leonard Floyd. Rodgers is now on the path to recovery following a successful surgery on Wednesday to repair a torn Achilles tendon.

Post-surgery, A-Rod made an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, where he not only discussed the possibility of his return in the 2024 season but also reflected on NBA legend Kobe Bryant, who faced a similar fate in his career.

A-Rod’s appearance on Pat McAfee‘s show was notably different this time, as he joined virtually and on bed rest. When the host inquired about his thoughts on the future, Rodgers revisited the injury and described how he had a strong hunch, even before the MRI, that it was an Achilles tear rather than a mere calf issue. Nevertheless, he maintained his resolve and expressed his anticipation of a triumphant comeback. McAfee then delved into how Rodgers plans to recover in time for the upcoming season next year.

Rodgers shared his awareness of NBA legend Kobe Bryant’s Achilles injury and how he immediately looked into it. Notably, Kobe had ruptured his Achilles during a game against the Warriors. A-Rod disclosed that he chose to consult the same doctor who had operated on Kobe, Dr. Neal ElAttrache. Rodgers went on to mention that this specialist had also treated him for a collarbone injury back in 2017.

A-Rod’s road to recovery!

The 4x MVP opened up about the uncertainties surrounding the duration of his rehabilitation, acknowledging the challenges ahead. He expressed unwavering determination to push the boundaries of what’s possible in his recovery. His surgery faced a slight delay due to the cross-country travel to the West Coast, occurring a full day later than most athletes typically undergo such procedures. Nevertheless, the NFL star has meticulously crafted his recovery plan through consultations with friends, sources, and even fellow competitors who’ve faced similar setbacks. At present, he’s unable to bear any weight on his foot and relies on crutches for mobility.
