When all the so-called ‘formidable’ sides stumbled, and great quarterbacks suffered huge losses there was one team led by a young passer to enter Week 7 undefeated. The Eagles are 6-0 after slaying the Cowboys in a close encounter.

However, Hurts doesn’t seem satisfied despite a thrilling victory just because they brought the game too close. Hurts wanted to have it the MJ way, taking the game far away from the opponent’s reach. While speaking in the post-game press conference, Hurts surprised the fans with his competitive references.

“I think about Michael Jordan when he said, ‘Put ’em away, MJ,’” Hurts said about the iconic quote from the 2020 Netflix miniseries.

“I want to put ’em away, you know what I’m saying? You want to put ’em away, you don’t want to give them an opportunity to make it a close game or give them an opportunity to have the ball in their hands. That’s the mentality we have,” he added.

In the first half, Hurts and Co dominated the game by leading the scoreboard. However, the Cowboys retaliated with a 17-point rally which clearly panicked the Eagles fan base.

And guess what? Head coach Nick Sirianni encourages his passer to follow the tapes of Tom Brady. “I think he’s so great at what he does because he’s so consistent, and he’s been able to maintain that for a long time, and I’ve mentioned that consistency could breed eliteness, and I think with him, that’s him,” Hurts said about the veteran, per Reuben Frank of NBC Sports Philadelphia.
