And with the news of incoming hosts, McAfee shared an update as to when we can expect him at ESPN.

The switch from the Pat McAfee show to ESPN has been building up for a few months. With little updates from behind the scene as to when we can see the former Colts punter in the ESPN colors. The former NFL player may have finally given the fans a tentative date for the move. With the clip of his show posted on Twitter sharing the intricate details.

The clip captioned, “I do believe I’m gonna have a microphone at The ESPYS.” McAfee would go on to add to this, “Wednesday night, at the ESPYS, I believe I will have a microphone there. I do believe.” The former Colts man further states that it’s early in the program and he believes it is going to be good.

“Got a couple days notice, feel real good where we’re at right now. Got a couple of days to kind of, piece some things together,” says Pat on the Pat McAfee show clip posted on Twitter. The sportscaster says he is honored, thankful, and pumped for the opportunity to join the corporation. This is a stark portrayal of ESPN where they have just let go of some of the biggest NBA correspondents on their studio. Many of Smith’s colleagues at ESPN have been shown the door after years of service.

While celebrity analyst and host Stephen A. Smith has stayed clear of the chopping block at ESPN. Many have not endured the same privilege with respect to their future at ESPN. Three of ESPN’s NBA correspondents in Jeff Van Gundy, Max Kellerman, and Jalen Rose are among the many names that have been let go by the Disney-owned corporation.

This clear-out has attracted direct speculation into the plans for ESPN and its sportscasting future. As Pat McAfee joins ESPN, many others are in talks or have sealed talks to join the broadcasting tycoon. And many more might follow with the recently available Shannon Sharpe also on the proverbial list who could be approached by ESPN.
