The NBA playoffs are in full swing. And while most fans would be riveted by Steph Curry and his historic game 7 against the Kings, James Harden put up an equally impressive performance against the defending Eastern Conference champions, Boston Celtics.

Game 1 of the Philadelphia Eagles and the Boston Celtics series had a start that would be referenced in the future. With their star center and MVP frontrunner, Joel Embiid ruled out with a sprained knee, it was up to James Harden to step up and remind the world of his Houston days. Ever since the tip-off, it looked like vintage Harden was back, imposing his will on every defensive scheme thrown at him by the relentless Boston Celtics.
Harden finished the game with 45 points, including a three-pointer to put the Sixers ahead with seconds remaining in the game. While Harden had himself a grand night, NFL veteran and media darling, Shannon Sharpe couldn’t help but feel concerned for the Celtics.
“That’s the one thing you don’t want to have happen to be a great player to go off, because now you triggered something in him to let him know because it’s easier for him to say I can do this. I mean there were games Joel Embiid didn’t play and he didn’t do this” expressed a frantic Sharpe.
Shannon Sharpe’s comments make perfect sense, especially after the monstrous performance James Harden put up last night. Despite winning an MVP, and giving his golden years to the Houston Rockers, Harden might be one of the most appreciated superstars in the NBA, but maybe the Sixers are his road to redemption.

James Harden is looking for vengeance
The past few seasons have been far more ideal for James Harden. Following his departure from the Houston Rockers, Harden put all his eggs in the Brooklyn Nets’ basket teaming up with fellow superstars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. However, injuries and Irving’s affinity for controversies eventually made Harden question his decision. A similar thing was happening in the Sixers locker room after Coach Doc Rivers and superstar Joel Embiid called out Ben Simmons for his choice of not shooting the ball. Hence, a trade was made with the Sixers acquiring Harden in exchange for Ben Simmons.
Harden has been constantly criticized for his inability to lead a team to the promised land, but with Embiid sidelined with injuries, Harden seems to be looking forward to the opportunity and shutting down his critics. Despite having a stupendous season so far, Harden barely put on his scoring shoes, mimicking the Harden of the Rockets, but maybe Boston is the team for Harden to get back into his groove again.
