Sharpe’s first question of the interview is about Johnson’s vacations, and how this unique blend of 5 weeks came about. Johnson says, “We went on vacation for two weeks, right, and I said ”man, it’s not enough”. So, the next year we did three weeks. I said ”man, that’s not enough”, so I said four weeks. We did that for about five years, and I said ”that’s not enough”. So we started doing five weeks.”
“But the blessing is, we’ve been going to Europe for 31 years, and so that’s our annual trip. I believe if I get everything that I want, and I know the place, why not just keep going back?” He added.
Magic has a history of taking vacations with famous couples, including award-winning actor Samuel L. Jackson and his wife. When asked about it, he says, “It’s really my wife, right….. We go with couples that, you know, we have something in common. That we can have a lot of fun with, watch movies with because on a yacht you’re spending a lot of close time together.”
“So we know them, all of them, Rodney and Holly, Sam and Latonya Jackson, and like you said, LL and his wife Simone. So we know them very well, they know us, so it’s easy to go on a trip with them, and spend a lot of quality time with them as well.” Magic concluded.

A flashback to Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson’s legendary career in the NBA
Magic is one of the greatest point guards to have graced the basketball court. The first pick of the 1979 NBA draft, he went on to play 13 seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers. In 906 games in the regular season, he averaged 19.5 points, 11.2 assists, and 7.2 boards. He also won Olympic gold in 1992 with the ‘Dream Team’ consisting of NBA stars, including Michael Jordan.
He retired in 1991, making brief comebacks for the Lakers as a player (1996) and as a coach (1994). Magic even played in Scandinavia for a while, but that was short-lived.
