Brittney Griner is one of the most successful and accomplished athletes in the history of the WNBA. But what if she tried her hands at the NBA and competed with the boys? Well, a question that certainly deserves an answer and something which took gravity in 2013, after she completed college. That’s when celebrities from the sports fraternity raised concerns over her ability to tackle the biological strength of men compared to women. Bengals legend Chad Johnson intervened in the discussion and asked the fans if her lower body strength is up to the standards of the NBA.

In the past, there had been several instances where women players were included in the NBA games. Ann Meyers from the Indiana Pacers tried playing in the NBA in 1979, and two years later, Nancy Liberman played for the Los Angeles Lakers.
However, their careers were short-lived, especially because it is hard to match the physical abilities of a different gender, even if they are superstars in the WNBA world.
“Can Brittney Griner really compete in the NBA… phenomenal athlete but the lower body strength needed in post-up situations?” Chad Johnson asked the question on Twitter.

Today, Griner is playing for the Phoenix Mercury and is one of the most phenomenal athletes playing the sport.
During her college career, she dominated women’s basketball for the entire four years. With 3,283 points, she finished the Women’s NCAA Division as the second highest scorer in the history of college basketball. She outranked men and women with her figures and became an obvious contender for the NBA draft.

In her entire college career, Griner made 18 dunks, and 11 of them came during her senior year.
Fans rejected all the possibilities for Brittney Griner making an NBA debut
The WNBA star is 6’8″ and 207 pounds, which is nearly equal to that of LeBron James, who is also 6’8″ and weighs 250 pounds. It would be dreadful to imagine Griner taking a shot against the giant if they ever face each other on the basketball court. Reacting to Chad Johnson’s question, a Twitter user mentioned she must focus on the WNBA.
@ochocinco no great athlete. She jus need to dominate wnba and the Olympics go down as the goat

Another user rejected the proposition and asked Johnson what he thinks about it.
@ochocinco nope, what do you think?
— NBA Retweet (@RTNBA) April 10, 2013
While this user was unhappy with Johnson to ask such questions that he thinks to be irrelevant.
@ochocinco my thoughts are you are extremely stupid for bringing this up, like @RealSkipBayless stupid for bring this up

Although it becomes a far-fetched idea for Griner to play in the NBA, she can still try her hands at a game or two, like an exhibition match in the future. Moreover, she can also fall back on Mavericks owner Mark Cuban who offered her an opportunity nine years ago.
