The history of Jordan-Hornets relations

After Jordan retired from the NBA, he was away from an active role in the league. However, in 2006, Jordan returned not as a veteran player but as a minority owner. He served as the managing member of the basketball operations for 4 years. Then, in 2010, Jordan went on to purchase a majority stake, becoming an owner of the organization. This was a huge deal as he was the only Black team owner in the league at the time. Even off the court, Jordan was pushing the boundaries of the league.
