While a lot of NBA stars go on to be irresponsible with the wealth they’ve amassed, MJ is not one of them. The GOAT on the court has gone on to bring in his conviction to be great in the business world. While his shoe brand continues to be the pinnacle of fashion, he has also been involved in the NBA. Jordan has been a majority stake owner of the Charlotte Hornets since 2010. His impact has been huge on the business end of the NBA but he might be ready to move on. Reports have emerged showcasing that Jordan might be considering making a bid for the Washington Commanders. Interestingly, this is not the first time a famous personality has been interested in the Wahington team. Sports reporter from The Washington Times, Thom Loverro took to Twitter to share the news of Jordan’s supposed intentions.
FWIW: In Nov. I was told by someone who claimed inside knowledge that a NY investment firm was interested in #Commanders and Michael Jordan would be part of bid. Was never able to confirm it. But their information included Jordan selling stake in Hornets https://t.co/n23LAx28lG

Jordan is reportedly interested in selling his majority stake in the Hornets. Furthermore, he has reportedly expressed interest in investing in the Washington Commanders alongside a New York-based investment firm. The report also included Jordan’s sale of the Hornets. Interestingly, Loverro mentioned that this news came to his attention in November. However, Jordan only recently announced his intentions of selling his stake in the Hornets.
While Jordan is yet to sell his stake, it would be quite sad for Charlotte as well as the NBA fraternity to see him go. Jordan becoming a majority owner became one of the more iconic achievements that the NBA has seen.

The history of Jordan-Hornets relations
After Jordan retired from the NBA, he was away from an active role in the league. However, in 2006, Jordan returned not as a veteran player but as a minority owner. He served as the managing member of the basketball operations for 4 years. Then, in 2010, Jordan went on to purchase a majority stake, becoming an owner of the organization. This was a huge deal as he was the only Black team owner in the league at the time. Even off the court, Jordan was pushing the boundaries of the league.
While it might be sad that Jordan is thinking of selling his stake in the Hornets, it would be intriguing to see him in the NFL world. Only time will tell if someone of Jordan’s caliber will be storming the NFL world with his singular desire to win.
