In a class act of ‘game recognizing game’, Tom Brady was acknowledged by the King of the NBA. LeBron James referred to Brady’s ability to show up week in and out for the last 23 seasons as he secured a much-needed win.

The Lakers are finally finding their groove as they go on a 2 game-winning streak. LeBron helped his team as they beat the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night. In his 40-minute showing, LeBron didn’t look as efficient, but he has an illness to blame.

Tom Brady is a class apart

Even in an underwhelming performance, the Lakers star recorded 20 points and 10 rebounds. However, his poor shooting showed how he wasn’t on top of his game. On being questioned about his slacking performance, LeBron mentioned “Today was the first day I got out of bed since Sunday night,” as he was addressing an illness. Also, nursing a foot injury, LeBron mentioned how Brady doesn’t age. “Tom Brady’s been on the injury report for like 20 straight years. Somehow he just plays.”

King James is in awe of Brady. He can’t understand how TB12 puts his body through those tackles every week and has been at it for 23 long years. Tom Brady has never missed a regular-season start since he came back from an ACL injury in 2008. He has also played an entire season with a torn MCL.

Having missed a total of 20 games in 23 seasons, the legend missed 15 games on the trot during his ACL injury. Taking care of nutrition and strength building off the field is a big factor in this longevity. However, those can be replicated by whoever has the resources. But Brady’s mental fortitude keeps him a notch above the rest. His ability to keep grinding is unmatchable.

Two GOATS of their craft

Ever since being drafted in 2003, LeBron has dominated his league as well. Similar to Tom Brady, he has set a unique niche for himself. Both athletes have so much in common and it all begins with their greatness at what they do. LeBron doesn’t play as contact-heavy a sport as Brady, but he plays much more games in a year and is always putting his body to work. 20 seasons of explosive running, jumping, and getting tossed around on a wooden court isn’t an easy job. This is seen clearly as he is the only active playing member from the class of the 2003 draft. LeBron has missed out only 53 games in his long career due to injury. Just like Brady, he seems to have cracked the code.

While both are nearing the tail end of their careers, it will be just as difficult for them to draw the curtain on their careers as it will be for their fans. One thing is however assured, as long as they are around, they will keep entertaining and producing their best as that is what great athletes do.
