When contrasted with the careers of athletes like LeBron James and Kobe Bryant, Sir Charles thought Brady’s was unmatched. The 15-time Pro Bowl quarterback was Barkley’s top option when Dan Patrick asked who was the better athlete.
“10 Super Bowls is fantastic, but the thing that’s weird about why I place football successes ahead of basketball accomplishments is that every game in the NFL is a one-game-you-out, you’re done. [In the NBA], if you had Kareem, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Kobe [Bryant], LeBron [James], Michael [Jordan], you can lose one game, two games, and three games. But, regardless of how good your regular season was, having every game be a Game 7, and having this man make it to 10 Super Bowls and win seven, is one of the greatest accomplishments in history. “To have every game be a Game 7, I believe Tom Brady’s career is unprecedented.”

Barkley was trying to make the point that no other player could likely match Brady’s spectacular career. He was the most powerful and impact when he threw the pigskin. One cannot disagree that winning back-to-back Super Bowls, as he did in 2004 and 2005, is not difficult. The 45-year-old impressed Chuck despite he never gave star hoopers like Shaquille O’Neal, MJ, or Bryant any credit.
