Actress Zendaya Had to Spell Out Odell Beckham Jr’s Place in the Friend Zone While Hinting at a Potential Link-up With This NBA Star

Hollywood icon Zendaya has been sending the rumor mill into a frenzy. Rumors of her engagement to Spider-Man co-star Tom Holland were guaranteed to spread like wildfire. Holland and Zendaya’s relationship has been fawned over by fans for years. But before she met her match, the actress was linked to not one but two sports stars.

Zendaya sparked rumors when she was spotted with NFL star Odell Beckham Jr. Rumors that the two were in a relationship ignited speculation. But, the actress was quick to quell any rumor that hinted at a relationship between her and the- at the time- New York Giants star.

Zendaya playfully concurred with a potential link-up with this NBA champion, not NFL star Odell Beckham Jr.

A TMZ video from six years ago shows the actress candidly speaking to a reporter about her dating life. She responded to questions posed to her while casually walking her dog. Zendaya, a San Francisco native, was asked if she supported the NBA team, Golden State Warriors. The actress indignantly responded, saying that she was a fan. The actress was then asked if she would go on a date with Klay Thompson, to which she stated, “I guess, why not.”

The reporter then cleverly alluded to the actress’s ties to OBJ by saying, “You’ve been on a date with an athlete before.” The actress guffawed at the statement and brushed away all the romantic connotations associated with her and Beckham. She said, “Oh my god, no! That was just my homie. It’s just funny that we just hang out one time, and it became a lot.”

In continuation of the line of questioning about a potential link-up with Thompson, Zendaya responded, “Hey, what’s up Klay? Nah, I’m kidding.” She also responded with a dry “Oh, thanks” to a statement that said she and Tompson would make a cute couple. But the biggest surprise wasn’t the fact that she was good-naturedly hinting at a potential relationship.

Zendaya’s favorite player is not Klay Thompson

The actress mentioned that she had never met Klay Thompson. When asked if she would like to meet him, Zendaya, like every ride-or-die sports fan, provided a very relatable answer. The actress said, “Well I’d like to meet the team because it’s my team.” After answering numerous insinuations about Klay Thompson, Zendaya gave a surprising answer when asked about who her favorite player was, and the answer was not Klay Thompson. But the actress did not downplay Tompson’s role on the team and said that he’s been stepping up the game. So, who is Zendaya’s favorite player? The actress stated that she’s a Stephen Curry fan. After all, who isn’t?
