While Wilson went on to secure three touchdowns in the game, reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes did not even manage to secure one despite making close to 250 passing yards, which also included one INT. But you can give the credit to the Broncos for turning up at full-form today or you can also blame it on Mahomes’ ill health.
You know all was not well with Mahomes when he entered the game. The news was out that the star QB was suffering from a stomach problem. In the post-match press conference, Patrick Mahomes shed some light on the issue. When he was asked to discuss the process of when he started feeling bad, Mahomes replied, ?I just started feeling bad last night but started feeling well in the morning?. With a disappointing run that followed, he might as well have taken a page out of another legend’s playbook to help Kansas.
Mahomes could learn some hefty lessons from all-time basketball legend Michael Jordan as he played with stomach flu in the 1997 NBA finals and still went on to win the game by churning out an incredible match-winning performance. Despite his sickness woes, a resilient Mahomes made the game since the Chiefs don?t have that much freedom of choice with their roster in terms of QB variety. Nonetheless, Kansas must buckle up and fast!
