For the second time, a Grizzlies–Lakers game has caught fans’ attention for the wrong reasons. Weeks after Ja Morant’s father and Shannon Sharpe’s verbal scuffle, Memphis star Dillon Brooks caused quite the stir. Ahead of their recent faceoff, Brooks made a statement with his outfit. Fans have gotten accustomed to some NBA stars’ eclectic and sometimes questionable fashion choices. But Brooks was brutally flamed. And now, Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend has joined the suit. What did he wear to warrant such heat?

Making his way to the arena to take on a LeBron-less Lakers, the Grizzlies star dressed as WWE’s Steve ‘Stone Cold’ Austin. While this is not the first time someone in the NBA has paid homage to Austin, Brooks’ outfit did not impress fans. Here’s why.

Over the last few weeks, Dillon Brooks has been on the receiving end of fans’ ire. His brawl with Donovan Mitchell didn’t impress fans. In light of all the negative press he’s been receiving, NBA fans’ reaction to his outfit may have been fueled by events from the recent past.

However, it wasn’t just the NBA world involved in Brooks’ ridicule. Recently crowned Super Bowl champion, Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend also hopped on board and took a shot at the Grizzlies star.

Kayla Nicole and the Chiefs TE were in a long-term relationship before their reported split. The influencer, who boasts 650,000 followers on Instagram, shared the clip of Brooks’ entry into the arena. Here’s what she had to say.

Nicole and NBA fans are far from impressed

Kayla Brooks took to her Instagram Story and reposted the NBA’s video of Dillon rooks’ entry. She wrote, “somebody said John 3 for 16” with a slew of ‘crying face’ emojis. Steve Austin is known for his iconic reference to the Bible verse John 3:16, which he personalized to Austin 3:16 during the 1996 King of the Ring tournament.

Some fans joined the dots between Brooks’ outfit, and field goal percentage with Austin’s catchphrase and said, “at the office today @channingfrye called him John 3-for-16 and I’ve had it,” “Dillon 3-for-16 says I just bricked your a** 😂”

Remarking on Brooks’ outfits some others said, “must’ve lost a bet,” “Yeah he lost a bet 😂😂😂”

Some users exclaimed, “Common Dillon Brooks L,” “Someone please, for all that is holy and good, bring back class and dignity,” “Go back to the locker room”
