LeBron James became the NBA’s all-time greatest scorer last night. James went past Lakers legend Kareem Abdul Jabbar with his 38,388th point. Consequently, the Los Angeles Lakers and Oklahoma Thunders game last night was a hotbed of stars from all over. However, one big name in the NFL world wasn’t present to witness the historic feat. It was none other than Patrick Mahomes, who sent his congratulations to ‘King’ James from his home.

Mahomes has a Super Bowl to play in four days and couldn’t make the trip to Crypto Arena for the live-action where Jabbar was surpassed by the former Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat legend. And the entire sporting world paused for a moment to salute the ‘King’ and his efforts.

Mahomes knows a thing or two about breaking records. The QB, since his start in the NFL in 2017, has become the fastest quarterback to reach 5000, 10,000, 15,000, and 20,000 passing yards. However, he has ways to go before surpassing the NFL records held by the gridiron’s G.O.A.T. and recently retired Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady.
