Los Angeles bleeds purple and gold, or at least that’s what it used to be during the early 2000s. While the Los Angeles Lakers have been the single focal point for LA basketball, their neighbors down the hall are on their way to catching up. The Lakers- Clippers had been a one-sided affair for the longest time, yet something seems to be shifting. While the Lakers still have some of the biggest names in their rosters, the Clippers have also fielded a team with three future Hall Of Famers.
With the ongoing season, the Lakers and Clippers are set to face each other yet again, and a certain NFL veteran and long-time Clippers advocate just can’t seem to hide his excitement.

Popular American sportscaster and NFL veteran, Marcellus Wiley, has been a lifetime lob city fan. Now, after years of loyalty and unwavering support, Wiley might get rewarded as the Clippers are no longer the second brothers in town. Both the LA Clippers and the Lakers are engaged in a tussle for the Western Conference, and Wiley is concerned about a certain GOAT prior to the matchup.
“Playoff seeding is on the line playoff opportunities are on the line. Let’s talk through that because that Goat Man, LeBron James is gonna have something to say tonight,” said Wiley.
Wiley couldn’t hide his excitement around the showdown as he says, “Y’all noticed the holiday at least in Los Angeles. This is La La Ball day right now clippers vs Lakers. I’m telling y’all, my phone I thought something was going on at home.”
Despite being confident in his team, Wiley felt that the Lakers were on a roll, “Everybody got the jokes flying because the Lakers right now they’re surging and the Clippers are doing something else.”

Wiley’s concerns were however not wrongly placed as the Lakers have shown time and again they are one of the teams to beat in the Western Conference. Despite being plagued by injuries, the Lakers have maintained an immaculate record of 14-7 since the All-Star break. The Clippers indeed face a tall task against the Lakers but maybe this is where they prove their metal.
The Results of the matchup
Marcellus Wiley’s prayers have been answered by the basketball gods, as the LA Clippers stood victorious against the Lakers. Despite Lebron James going off for 33-8 and 7, the Clippers stayed resilient and in the end finished the job. The Clippers’ bench had the most impact as Norman Powel put up 27 points off the bench. With Paul George out of the rotation, all eyes were on Kawhi Leonard, and he certainly didn’t disappoint.

Wiley’s love for the Clippers franchise was instilled in him during his days in San Deigo, as in the San Deigo Clippers. Both Wiley and his father have bonded over their shared love for the Clippers. This year might be it for the LA Clippers and Wiley, as the Western Conference remains wide open and teams seem to be tussling for the sixth seed.
