Chase Elliott must be the happiest NASCAR driver at the moment, right? He won the inaugural race of the season, and the fact that it was the return to the Bowman Gray after over 50 years of NASCAR not racing at the track must have made it special. Except, for the 7x Most Popular Driver felt upset. It wasn’t due to anything NASCAR-related, but disappointment caused by the Kansas City Chiefs’ dominance.
After the NFL Conference game between the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs ended in favor of Travis Kelce and co., Chase Elliott expressed his immense disappointment at seeing his favorite player Josh Allen out of contention for the Super Bowl.

In a chat with Claire B. Lang, Chase Elliott shared his insight for the upcoming game of the Philadelphia Eagles. At the same time, he lamented the loss of the Buffalo Bills, saying, “Man, I’ll be honest. I was really pulling for the Bills. I was really pulling for Josh Allen. I’ve become a big fan of his.” It’s no wonder Elliott felt bad for Allen in his loss against the Chiefs. Josh Allen displayed a champion mindset on the field ranked as the MVP.
He expressed his frustration after the heartbreaking loss despite his efforts. He put on an incredible performance deserving a victory. Former coach Sean McDermott referred to him as an “alien.” The Buffalo Bills fell short of a couple of points and lost to the Los Angeles Rams. However, there’s a much deeper reason for Elliott’s Josh Allen fandom, one that goes back a few years. Chase Elliott’s struggles from the 2023 season are no secret. He struggled with a major injury as well as missing out on several Cup Series races.
Having come back from such difficult moments, Elliott found a sense of reliability with Allen. So far, Allen’s record against Mahomes in the playoffs is at 0-4, with Mahomes coming out on top every single time. As Elliott described it, “So I think kind of as we have gone down this path of having a tough year last year, you kind of look at things differently, and while to your point asking about Mahomes. I mean obviously, he is a great athlete he has been at the top of his game for some time. It kind of makes me think about Josh Allen, a guy who just can’t get over that hum but we all know he is really good, how does he handle having to play Mahomes in the AFC Championship or NFC or whatever every year.”

While Allen couldn’t get over that hump this year, Chase Elliott remains ever hopeful. After all, even he managed to overcome the adversity of the 2023 season, and while he didn’t make it all the way into the Cup Series finale, there was certainly progress. These parallels are what draw Elliott to Josh Allen. As for the remaining games in the NFL, Elliott has now pledged loyalty to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Now Chase Elliott wasn’t the only one immersed in the NFL. A certain team-owner from the Xfinity Series also couldn’t help but feel the highs and lows of supporting an NFL team.
A mixed bag for Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s love for the Washington Commanders is no secret. He’s a long-time fan, and he’s stuck to the time through thick and thin, mostly the thin since they haven’t had a good run ever since Joe Gibbs left them back in ’92. Much to Junior’s surprise, and for most fans as well, the Commanders stunned fans with their remarkable performances. The Commanders were doing so well that Dale Jr. was constantly at the edge of his seat, frequently posting online about the team.

But alas, the run wouldn’t last. The Philadelphia Eagles brutally kicked the Commanders out from progressing to the next stage, with the score 55-23 in favor of the Eagles. Regardless, Dale Jr. isn’t demotivated at all. Instead, he came up with an inspiring message for the team on X.
It said, “H*** of a season. Got caught up in the idea of a Super Bowl run and needed reminding this morning of how big the gains were in the past 2 years. The team this year went above and beyond anything I had imagined. I’m grateful and excited for the future.” A true fan indeed. Now, all the eyes will be on the Super Bowl, as the mammoth event is just days away. Who do you think will win the competition this year?
