Be it NASCAR racing or the NFL, a rookie season is a tough ordeal for athletes to overcome. Particularly for those talented individuals who are predicted to hit the ground running in their first season. Something similar of sorts happened with the Carolina Panthers‘ new QB, Bryce Young, as he was unable to live up to his billing in his rookie season.

In 16 games, Young threw for 2.877 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He only managed to complete 59.8% of his passes. While there have been worse rookie campaigns in the past, but Young certainly won’t call his rookie season a success. But there is some hope for the 2021 Heisman Trophy winner, with the new head coach looking to lead the Panthers.

Taking a break from the organized team activities, Young and other players tried their hands at the pit crew challenge during a trip to Hendrick Motorsports and Charlotte Motor Speedway. The No. 1 overall pick from the 2023 NFL Draft, Young, was put on tire carrier duty with his teammates. Young and his team clocked a decent timing of 15.50 seconds, which was enough to pipe their competition. The 22-year-old QB was seen celebrating passionately with his team members after the efforts.

Moreover, the Panthers also visited the NASCAR Racing Experience in Charlotte, featuring a Tomorrow-era stock car with a special Panthers paint scheme featuring No. 51, honoring Pro Football HOF linebacker and legend Sam Mills. However, NFL fans weren’t impressed with the Panthers’ QB’s performance on the pit crew challenge. And started trolling him on the back of a rough 2023 outing.

Just like NASCAR, NFL fans are always awaiting an opportunity to troll the star player from the rival team. Therefore, when Young tried his hand as a NASCAR tire changer, the fans made sure to take a jibe at him. A user was quick to highlight his woes from the last season with the caption of the post shared by HMS. Did you know Bryce Young can carry tires too? “Too? What else is he carrying? Cuz it ain’t an NFL team.”

Some even started to predict his future career as a full-time NASCAR pit crew member, hinting at yet another disappointing season for the Panthers star QB. “i mean he can’t win games, so maybe he can make the switch.” Another said, “2 years from now this is gonna be his career.”
