Multi-talented is a word perfect for the sensational sports personality, Pat Mcafee. However, for now, he works as the host of one of the most loved NFL shows ‘The Pat McAfee Show’, where he discusses sports. Many fans might know him as the guy who, despite knowing much about the sport, is excited like a child when it comes to discussing the NFL.
Additionally, it is not just football that holds a special position in his heart; the guy is a champion in other sports too. Well, you can’t blame him, as the charismatic host holds a past with the sport not many present-day fans might be aware of.

Given McAfee’s interest in football, his being a player of the sport seems pretty predictable. Pat McAfee was a fan of football since his college days and made a successful college sports career in it with his team West Virginia Mountaineers in 2005. McAfee won West Virginia’s Scott Shirley Award for two consecutive years. Moreover, he was cherry-picked by the Indianapolis Colts in their 2009 draft as a seventh-round pick.
Contributing to a booming year for the Colts, McAfee and his team went straight to the 2009 Super Bowl. Unfortunately, McAfee lost his rookie Bowl season against the Saints. However, he was not the one to stop there, as after 6 years on the field, McAfee achieved the status of All-Pro, along with bagging two Pro Bowls.
Well, football and McAfee would be predictable, but the next professional sport of the Pro Bowl might surprise many. The former NFL player, post-retirement from the sport in 2017, came back into another realm that held his interest. Wrestling seemed to be the NXT Year-End Award champion’s calling as he brought many opponents down in the ring. However, his true calling was something entirely else.

Looking at the amazing numbers, it is safe to say that McAfee holds a reputation in the realm of sports, especially NFL and wrestling. However, the guy was meant to be a world-class commentator, giving his dramatic flair in discussing players and piqued interest levels while interviewing the best of the players. During all of this, McAfee was actively working as a football analyst, first with Barstool Sports. However, things did not work out with the organization. So in 2018, he launched his brand ‘Patt McAfee INC’ birthing ‘Pat McAfee Show 2.0’ and his merchandise. After shuffling between various broadcasting partners, the host shook hands with ESPN for a reportedly eight-digit contract. Moreover, the analyst continues to surprise his WWE fans with a couple of surprise appearances, like his latest one in the 2023 Royal Rumble. Along with this, he has also hosted some basketball events as well. In a nutshell, McAfee is a man who is making the most out of his life.
