The Paris Olympics gymnastics will go down in history. Simone Biles and Sunisa Lee became the first non-European champs to have more than one Olympic AA. That says a lot. With Biles landing her signature Biles II to secure the gold and Lee fighting through her kidney disease to grab a bronze. Biles secured a perfect 59.131 on the scoreboard and Lee went on to get a 56.465. While Lee and Biles both couldn’t manage to secure a win during the balancing beams final, coming 6th and 5th respectively, NFL legend Tom Brady still had high praise for the girls.
Brady took to his Instagram story on August 5th to drop a solid 6-word message. “So impressed with these girls today,” Brady mentioned. Who wouldn’t be? Biles’ flips took aback even NBA champ Jeff Teague. “That triple backflip is nuts!” he had recalled. Back during the Tokyo Olympics, Biles had to unfortunately call it off because of suffering from a case of “the twisties.” This year was her shot at making her people proud. Biles is now the most decorated gymnast in the world. With 10 medals won in the Olympics and around 30 championship wins. Also for Lee, this win didn’t come easy. She had to withdraw from her college career because of her kidney problems but look at her now. She came back with a blast.

Brady sat in the front row, showing support for Team US. In a post-interview, while Biles was talking about her experience, Brady spotted her and slid in quite a sweet remark. “There’s the GOAT. Right there,” Brady said. While both Biles and Lee couldn’t win the penultimate event, they still left an impact. But there’s another twist in the story that many of you probably weren’t expecting. What if I told you that Biles and Lee weren’t the only people to make history at the 2024 Paris Olympics?

From bunk beds to No.2 gymnasts in the world. That’s Rebeca Andrade for you folks. She has become the first Brazilian woman to have 4 Olympic wins under her belt and also added herself to the list of non-Euro women with multiple Olympic AAs. Fighting through her ACL injury, Andrade grabbed the silver for her team in Paris with a solid score of 57.966. She also was the first opponent to make Simone Biles actually nervous.
This alone tells you that she is a force to be reckoned with. After the event, she went on to say that Biles brought out the best from her. “Simone is the best, and she brings out the best of me,” Andrade had mentioned. This year has been nothing but people breaking records and etching their names as the GOATs of their sports.
