Rap sensation Drake and retired rapper and media personality Joe Budden recently sparked an online beef that stems from their long-term rivalry since 2016. Drake released his eighth album, For All the Dogs, on October 6. Long-time rival Joe Budden trolled the new album on The Joe Budden Podcast, stating that Drake hasn’t matured in his subject matter and that he’s “rapping for children.“
Drake then addressed the 43-year-old directly in the comments, starting with, “You have failed at music. You left it behind to do what you’re doing in this clip because this is what actually pays your bills.” He goes on to degrade Joe Budden, calling him the “poster child of frustration and surrendering.“

Stephen A. Smith compares Joe and Drake to the Cowboys and Colorado
The sports commentator and personality also posted his comparisons on Joe Budden and Drake in a tweet, saying, “Joe Budden vs Drake, the Cowboys got dominated and Deion/Colorado check-in.” The two rappers have an ongoing feud that began in May 2016 when Joe Budden trolled Drake’s fourth album, Views, calling it “uninspired.” In June, Drake retaliated by dissing Budden in his “4 PM In Calabasas.” Since then, it has been an on-and-off battle between the two rappers.
Stephen A. Smith pointed out that while Drake boasts 193 Awards as a rapper, including five Grammy Awards, Joe Budden has only two Grammy nominations. But he said he’s on this one with Joe Budden because he “was there and as far as I’m concerned, he’s a brother to be respected.” He said of Drake that he “clearly is on another level in this field.“
