Will Compton, a seasoned NFL linebacker known for his tenure with the Tennessee Titans, has decided to hang up his cleats and retire from professional football. Since concluding his NFL career, Compton has transitioned into a new role at Barstool Sports, where he serves as the co-host of the popular podcast “Bussin’ With the Boys.” Compton recently caught some eyes after commenting unfavorably on a fellow NFL player’s Hall of Famer credentials. 

Bobby Wagner, renowned for his Hall of Fame-worthy career, is returning to his roots with the Seattle Seahawks after spending a considerable amount of time as a free-agent linebacker. This reunion not only bolsters the Seahawks’ linebacker unit but also brings back one of the franchise’s most illustrious defensive players. However, not everyone seems to second that.

Will Compton, recently took to Platform X to defend his career numbers against Bobby Wager. An NFL fan called out,You’re nowhere near a hall of Famer. Bobby Wagner damn near puts up your career numbers annually.” Compton defended himself by stating, “I highly doubt Bobby Wagner has put up the numbers I have on the punt team and kickoff.” He continued, “Nor has he executed the amount of double teams I have on a kickoff return,” before concluding by accusing the Hall of Fame titles of being subjective.

Compton, who began his NFL career as an undrafted free agent with the Washington Commanders in 2013, has played for multiple teams since. After stints with Washington and the Tennessee Titans, he also briefly joined the New Orleans Saints and the Las Vegas Raiders. In 2022, a potential deal with the Atlanta Falcons fell through because of his affiliation with The Barstool Sportsbook. Over his NFL career, Compton appeared in 92 games, recording 258 tackles, one sack, and three interceptions.

Bobby Wagner returns to the Seahawks

Selected by Seattle in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft, Bobby Wagner holds the distinction of being the Seahawks’ all-time leading tackler. He played a pivotal role in the team’s Super Bowl XLVIII victory and subsequent appearance in Super Bowl XLIX. However, Wagner’s tenure with the Rams was short-lived, as he was released on March 15, just a year after signing a lucrative five-year, $50 million contract.

Despite his departure, Wagner’s performance in the 2023 season was stellar, earning him second-team All-Pro honors and recognition as the top linebacker in the NFL by Pro Football Focus. This marked the ninth time in his 11 seasons that Wagner received All-Pro recognition. Throughout his illustrious career, spanning over a decade, Wagner has amassed impressive statistics, including 1,523 tackles, 29.5 sacks, 13 interceptions, and six forced fumbles.
