Having spent most of his career playing with the Chicago Bears in the NFL, former QB Jay Cutler found himself arrested on Thursday for driving intoxicated and g– possession. This news came as a huge surprise, considering the charges he got on the back of it. Having been booked into the Williamson County Jail, his scruffy mug shot was released by the police.
And not surprisingly, he didn’t look happy about that. However, after spending a night in Tennessee Jail, he was charged with driving under the influence, failure to exercise due care, violation of implied consent law and possession of a handgun under the influence. Going through those charges, Cutler did, in fact, have a rough night, which later got a little better.
The former NFL QB signed a $5000 bond that got him released later that night. Although there aren’t many details at this point behind his sudden arrest. We can’t help but wonder whether it comes on the back of his failed marriage with Kristin Cavallari. Cutler and Cavallari were married for 9 years, from 2013 to 2022. They share three children together: sons Camden and Jaxson, and daughter Saylor. Even though the 41-year-old hasn’t really opened up on his split, Cutler’s ex did express her thoughts last year.

Appearing on her Let’s Be Honest podcast, Cavallari shared, “I never thought we’d get here. I’m so happy about it because you know everyone wins when the parents are on good terms. My kids see it. It’s just easier. Life is really good right now, and I’m so thankful for it. When I tell you guys, if we can get there, anyone can get there. I mean it.” Although Kristin expressed her happiness with co-parenting, Cutler found love once again.
After their split, within a few months, Cutler got into a relationship with Samantha Robertson, and the duo posted several pics of their having a cozy time together. In one of the photos Samantha dropped on her Instagram, she captioned it, “Sunsets in Montana never disappoint.” To add fuel to those dating rumors, the former NFL QB commented, “When are we going back?” Even his new girlfriend is divorced, having been previously married to Trace Ayala.

Although we don’t know what got Jay into this situation, which somewhat tarnished his public image, his NFL career has been something to be frowned upon since hanging up his cleats in 2017.
Remembering Jay Cutler’s time in the NFL
Jay Cutler had a 12-year career in the NFL to look back upon when he was first drafted by the Broncos in 2006. Having spent three seasons in Denver, he left on a high after recording 4,528 yards and taking home a Pro Bowler accolade in his final season. Before the 2009 season, he joined the Bears, where he spent 8 eight seasons while helping them win the NFC Championship Game in his second year in Windy City.

Even Chicago reaped the benefits of having Cutler in their ranks as he recorded multiple 1,000-plus yardage seasons for the Bears. After leaving the Bears, he took on the role of broadcaster with Fox Sports in 2017. However, the smell of gridiron was too alluring for him as he joined the Dolphins in 2017 when Ryan Tannehill got a season-ending injury. Well, after 2017, he retired for good and finished his career with a 74-79 record against the 153 starts he had on his belt.
For now, Cutler may be going through a tough time as he faced criminal charges for the first time in his life. We hope he doesn’t get in more trouble while navigating through this road bump in his NFL-decorated life.
