Nessa Diab is always around when it comes to Colin Kaepernick, and that’s what true love is supposed to be like. While the couple isn’t all flashy about their romance and personal lives, the 41-year-old is a driving motivator for the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback. So, who exactly is this lady beside Colin Kaepernick, helping him wade through a rough patch in his career?

Colin Kaepernick had a few mishaps with the law in 2016 when he protested during the national anthem. Since then, he has remained a free agent pursuing a career as a civil rights activist. Amidst her partner’s inability to find a league to play for, Nessa Diab has always shown her support through social media by promoting her beau.

Nessa Diab – Early life and career

Born on May 1, 1981, to an Egyptian father and mother, Nessa Diab grew up in Southern California with two brothers. She completed her graduation from the University of California, Berkeley, with a degree in mass communications. 

Despite her roots, Nessa has made a name for herself as an American TV and radio host. She had her breakthrough when she gained attention with her interviews on Wild 94.9. From then on, Nessa Diab began to host various MTV and MTV2 shows. Currently, she is the host of Nessa on Air, a popular number-one hip-hop show. She also hosted NBCUniversal Talk Stoop for one season in 2018. As of 2023, Nessa Diab’s approximate net worth is $2 million.

Both Nessa and Colin Kaepernick have a deep understanding of each other because they’re both vocal about police brutality and racial injustice in the nation. Like her partner, she’s an activist herself who led the 2016 Plan B campaign to create awareness about reproductive health and rights. 

Nessa Diab’s relationship with Colin Kaepernick

Colin Kaepernick and Nessa Diab’s love story dates back to 2015. But it was only in 2016, after his controversial national anthem incident, that he publicized his relationship with Nessa. Together, the couple founded the Know Your Rights Camp, which seeks to help and empower underprivileged youths. 

Nessa has also appeared alongside Colin Kaepernick in his Netflix documentary series, Colin Kaepernick in Black and White. While the couple has been together for eight years now, there’s no official news that they’re married. However, they had a child together in 2022, although the news isn’t well publicized.  

Colin Kaepernick may have had a short stint on the football field. But his stats do not deny that he was indeed an exceptional player with an NFL record for most rushing yards by a QB, with 181 yards and 246 yards, respectively, in a single game and a single postseason. But with his partner Nessa by his side supporting his causes, maybe his career would shine even brighter off-field.
