The year 2022 witnessed one of the most iconic couples in the NFL arena separating ways. It was none other than the NFL legend, Tom Brady and his supermodel wife, Gisele Bündchen. The power couple, despite their decision, have stayed on friendly terms as they co-parent their two kids. However, it did not stop the former footballer from pursuing other relationships.

Earlier this year, Tom Brady was spotted with Russian model Irina Shayk, and the rumors concerning their ties sparked within the NFL community. However, these talks have been put to an end now as the things between the two have probably “fizzled out.” Meanwhile, the divorce has just prompted $400 million Gisele Bündchen to focus on rejuvenating herself. This time, the new venture of Bündchen has just once again brought forth her altruistic side.

Gisele and her philanthropic persona

On 23rd October, the Lotus House Women’s Shelter posted a series of photos on their Instagram account. The Brazilian supermodel, Gisele Bündchen was present there as well. It was a gala event conducted for “Our Children Our Future”, an organization that aims at betterment of children and families, with the aim of uplifting them toward positive future.

Thus, it was not surprising to witness Gisele Bündchen along with many female advocates of the cause, coming forth and supporting the selfless agenda. Additionally, it is a known fact that the 43-year-old has consistently been associated with several charities like Save the Children, Red Cross, and Doctors Without Borders.

With Lotus House charity, the model has been associated ever since she donated $1 Million for the construction of a children’s playground in April 2023. The Instagram handle of the organization, hence, came forth with utmost gratitude toward the support it received. They mentioned how it was an event to celebrate “art, philanthropy and love.”

Amidst such an inspiring post, it is salient to note that Gisele Bündchen has always been a stance supporter of reformatory movements towards the upliftment of women and children.  Besides the female empowerment cause, Bündchen has voiced her concerns for the preservation of Amazon rainforests in the past as well.

This has allowed the activist to be a part of many initiations toward noble causes. One of which included a joint charity with ex-husband Tom Brady. Unfortunately, that foundation became a figure of controversy and numerous concerns surrounded the initiative.

The controversy of Tom Brady and Bündchen’s Luz Foundation

The Luz Foundation was founded by the couple in 2007. Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen’s beloved charity gave out a total of $640,402 since its establishment in 2007 till 2019. Shockingly, this amount equals only 0.1% of their combined net worth. When the charity was started, Bündchen said that the sole mission of the foundation was to provide grants and support to young girls.

Till now, most of the funding from the organization has gone towards yoga and meditation groups. When Brady joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the couple made a heartfelt gesture when they donated 750,000 meals to Feeding Tampa Bay in 2020. But the fans were quick to concede that this could have very well been a publicity stunt so as to strengthen the ties between the Bucs and the 6-time Super Bowl winner.

After their divorce was announced, the charity probably suffered as well as it was a joint venture. Although, it will be interesting to see if Brady and Bündchen will be able to come together to improve the state of the organization’s funding.
