Tom Brady goes off on the NFL yet again regarding the safety of the players. The 46-year-old former QB for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has been in the NFL limelight since announcing his official retirement from the sport in February. Though he’s left his boots and helmet behind, Brady continues to be a controversial topic as he takes yet another dig at the state of today’s NFL.

The 7-time Super Bowl winner has had one of the best careers in the sport. Brady took his exit from the NFL after 23 glorious seasons. But it looks like he keeps making the news for his controversial take on the state of today’s NFL. Earlier in an interview with Stephen A. Smith, Brady said that there’s a lot of “mediocrity” in today’s NFL, which subjected him to a lot of heat from the fans. And in recent news, Brady goes off on the NFL again despite the sensitive situation around Tua Tagovailoa’s injury.

Tua Tagovailoa, the quarterback for the Miami Dolphins, was involved in a serious injury against the Bengals recently. The 25-year-old had to be stretchered off the field, and as a result, the NFL reopened the case for better safety measures for the athletes.

The NFL has a concussion fund that had to allocate a total settlement amount of over $100 million to players who suffered severe head injuries. But even with the presence of the fund, the dangers of hazardous concussions are still a major cause of concern, and as such, the NFL would want to tone down on the aggression on the field.

But this is where Brady disagreed with the league when he said, “So, now, everything is still being said players safety, players safety. But in my view, we; ‘re making the product less, we’re making it worse because guys need to be physical and need to play aggressive. And if quarterbacks are going to run aggressive, defensive players can be aggressive, then you can play with him. And I’m not saying do anything cheap or against the rules.” The star of the Patriots wants to keep the game as it is despite the severe injuries, as he believes more safety measures will ruin the essence of the game. And yet, this isn’t all that Brady’s said about today’s NFL, and here’s an overview of his statement about the mediocrity of the sport.

Brady calls the NFL out for its “mediocrity” and poor coaches.

Brady has exited the sport but continues to stir waves with his brutal opinions about the current generation of players. Furthermore, he’s talked about how the present-day rules have made players more obsolete and less disciplined.

He also brutally said, “I think there’s a lot of mediocrity in today’s NFL. I don’t see the excellence that I saw in the past. I think the coaching isn’t as good as it was; I don’t think the development of young players is as good as it was.” The fans have persistently tried to bring Brady back to the NFL as a coach, if not as a player. But it seems as if Brady won’t be interested in having that conversation until the state of the game changes drastically and all of the “mediocrity” is eradicated.
