NFL Legend Emmitt Smith Graces 2024 Kentucky Derby Red Carpet with Star-Studded Presence

With one of the biggest events of the nation occurring this weekend, the stars were all out in their fanciest looks. And much to the NFL fans’ surprise, they got to witness the stallion of the sport, Emmitt Smith, donning a crisp blue suit.

Every year, the Kentucky Derby hosts a large number of notable celebrities who show their fondness and support for the massive horse race. The 2024 Kentucky Derby will be the 150th edition of the annual race and will take place on Churchill Downs to decide the much-anticipated winner. As such, among the crowd of big names, Emmitt Smith was also spotted as a fan of the sport.

The Kentucky Derby has been graced with a star-studded audience in attendance as names like Jack Harlow and Travis Kelce were seen in their flashy outfits. What was especially exciting to see was the former legendary RB for the Dallas Cowboys, Emmitt Smith, who was seen in a light blue chequered suit and it’s safe to say that the Hall of Famer looked drop-dead striking.

More names included the likes of the beautiful Martha Stewart, Thomas Rhett, Jimmy Fallon of the Tonight Show, and the pioneer of soul music, William “Smokey” Robinson. The Kentucky Derby is primarily famous for the sport of course, but the dresses and the glam are also a big part of it. Additionally, an estimated 90 percent of women don a hat at the Derby, something which is considered to be an odd thing to witness in today’s time. With all that said, here’s Smith replying to a question that asked him what he would name his derby horse.

Catch 22: Emmitt Smith’s horse

Every NFL fan in the world remembers the name and the legacy of Emmitt Smith back in the day. The all-time leading rusher in NFL history has an ardent passion for the horse racing sport. And as a Cowboys’ legend, it’s almost ironic that he loves his share of the horses but rather than a hat, he used to gallop with a helmet on.

A reporter asked Smith what he would name his horse if he ever participated in the sport. Smith replied with a hysterical answer which was, “Catch 22.” His horse name is absolutely iconic since Smith himself was someone who was too fast for the defenders to catch. The NFL legend continues to be a towering figure in the sport as his speed and athleticism continue to be an epitome of talent.
