Tom Brady’s retirement from football has been anything but ordinary. He’s ventured into various businesses, including owning a British soccer team, a car racing team, and even a team in a unique electric boat racing league – E1.

This eco-friendly series caught Brady’s eye for its “great potential” and sustainability focus.  He wasn’t alone in backing this innovative concept – tennis legend Rafael Nadal and Indian cricket star Virat Kohli also joined the ownership ranks, bringing global recognition to the sport.  Interestingly, all 8 teams boast celebrity owners and feature both male and female pilots.

Thus the hype surrounding E1 was quite huge, and Brady even managed to win in the inaugural Red Sea competition. True to his competitive spirit, Brady declared “Here to win” after that sweet moment. However, the early success wasn’t a smooth ride.  While they qualified strong, things got challenging during the race and they ultimately landed in 9th place overall. Despite the setback, Brady being a true leader reposted the news on his Instagram Story with a message of determination — “Tough Weekend, we’ll be back.”

In fact, Brady’s team cited “a power failure and damage from battling other boats in tough conditions” which forced them to retire (DNF) and finish 3rd in the semi-finals. Just like their owner, the team also vowed to “learn from their mistakes and come back stronger for the next race.” They also thanked “Team Brady fans for your continued support.” However, despite the disappointing setback, Brady found a new victory to celebrate.

Tom Brady embraces new leadership roles post-football

Among his many post-retirement ventures, one standout is his ownership of the British car racing team, Hertz Team Jota. In mid-May, the team celebrated a huge win in the FIA World Endurance Championship as their Porsche 963 secured first place with some strategic pit stops. Ever the leader, Brady congratulated the team in a heartfelt post, acknowledging the challenges they faced during the weekend. He declared their victory a “testament to what persistence and hard work can do for ANY team,” and added, “It’s only the beginning.”

Despite a setback with his E1 electric boat racing team shortly after, Brady’s drive remains unstoppable. Now, he is all set to take on a new challenge — becoming a part-owner of the Vegas Raiders. It will be interesting to see if the leadership qualities he displayed with Hertz Team Jota and Team Brady translate to success in the NFL too.
