After retiring from the NFL, the GOAT, Tom Brady, has been embracing a new chapter in his life, prioritizing health and family. Stepping away from the stresses, including his eleven-year marriage to Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen, Brady has been enjoying various activities that align with his passions which include occasional involvement in auctions. Whether it’s participating as a bidder or being the subject of bids, the seven-time Super Bowl winner has been in the headlines either way.

Ten months after the legendary quarterback emerged from a brief retirement, his first season with a sub-.500 record concluded with a resounding 31-14 home loss to the Cowboys. The jersey donned by Brady has become as historic as the player itself in recent times.

Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers jersey, worn in his final NFL game, recently fetched a staggering $1.4 million at a Sotheby’s auction. This historic jersey, worn on January 16, 2023, during the NFC Wildcard Playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys, symbolizes the culmination of Brady’s extraordinary 22-year career.  At the recent auction, other notable jerseys included Lewis Hamilton’s 2013 Mercedes-Benz F1 W04 jersey, with an expected price range of $10 to $15 million. Tom Brady continues to set records in merch sales, particularly with his historic jersey auction.

In 2021, when he joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, his jersey became the best-selling for an NFL player in the two weeks leading up to the Super Bowl. Joe Montana’s previous record of $1.2 million for the priciest NFL jersey was surpassed by Brady’s jersey, which sold for $1.4 million. The jersey’s value could have doubled with a Super Bowl appearance and tripled with a victory. With Brady’s retirement in the off-season this year, the Patriots have been faced with multitudes of difficulties, with pressure piling over the head coach Bill Belichick to prove himself.

The team’s string of defeats has intensified criticism of the head coach, reaching a point where he may wish to step down as well. As a sixth-round pick in the 2000 NFL Draft, Brady exceeded all expectations, becoming one of the greatest athletes in sports history with seven Super Bowl rings and numerous records.
