Oh no! Tom Brady’s broadcasting dreams are about to hit a roadblock. Despite facing little competition in football, the NFL legend is facing a different challenge as a broadcaster. Initially, Brady took the lead by beating Greg Olsen, securing his spot as the No.1 Fox NFL Analyst.

But now, the tables seem to have turned. While as a debutant in broadcasting, Brady hit a fortune of $375 million, he may lose ground as Olsen just landed a major gig for Madden NFL 25. Will the TB12’s inexperience fall short in front of the Olsen legacy?

Olsen’s recent career developments have been a series of setbacks for Brady. Even after getting demoted from Fox’s lead NFL broadcasting team with the TB12’s entry, the former tight end won the Sports Emmy Award for Outstanding Personality/Event Analyst on May 21. Awkward, much? Hold on, as more awkwardness is yet to come. Now that the Madden NFL 25 release has begun, the gaming franchise has come with an elite rollout. As reported by Ari Meirov, this year will have three commentary teams and it has been confirmed that Olsen has found himself a spot in the same team as Mike Tirico.

EA Sports decided to freshen things up by incorporating two new commentary teams into the game. The other two teams will comprise Brandon Gaudin and Charles Davis in one and Kate Scott and Brock Huard in the other. But among the big names, Olsen stands out, especially after his demotion that caused his salary to shrink from $10 million to $3 million. Yes, that means the ultimate winner turns out to be the most experienced one and not the most popular (read: Brady).

Olsen is a stalwart in broadcasting as compared to inexperienced Brady

The ex-Panthers player stepped foot in the world of broadcasting and began with color commentary during bye weeks toward the end of his playing career. Olsen switched as a full-timer in 2021 and partnered with the famous NFL-MLB broadcaster, Kevin Burkhardt. Witnessing the success of the pair, they were soon promoted to No.1 team replacing Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. Olsen carries with himself the experience of Fox’s Super Bowl LVII broadcast in his bag.

However, his Fox Sports glory has been short-lived as Brady barged as an intruder, snatching away the lead color commentator role and kicking off a gargantuan 10-year contract. But Olsen, to his credit, has handled the situation with dignity, even helping Brady. The only advice he came up with for the TB12 is, “Every guy has their own journey in sports broadcasting. I think everyone thinks it’s easy.”

Was that an indirect jab at Brady who now proceeds with confidence? But the confidence will not last for long since the seven-time Super Bowl winner will be facing strong competition from the three-time Pro Bowl winner. Let’s see who shares the last laugh.
