Tom Brady, the NFL legend, reminisces on the golden days of his football career. The 46-year-old former QB for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has been at the forefront of attention ever since his retirement in February. Though he stepped out of the gridiron for good, he still keeps up with the sport through his podcast episodes that come out weekly.

Brady has had one of the most glorious careers in NFL history. He’s the only player in the sport to have won over 6 Super Bowls with no competition in sight. The number 12 quarterback had a sensational time with the New England Patriots before retiring with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2023. In his newest conversation, he talks about how the teams used to have names of famous celebrities as code words for plays and hurdles.

In the newest episode of the ‘Let’s Go!’ podcast, Brady is in a conversation with Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray. The interview leads up to a segment where the former NFL veteran talks about the code words that the coaches and the teams would use. Names of famous athletes and celebrities like Michael Jordan and LeBron James were used as code words for different plays.

Brady said, “We had names like Frank Sinatra, Fred Couples, Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali, Pulp Fiction, Air Force One. There were so many different ones that all correlated to different code words that we’d have in the offense. Wasn’t there a LeBron James one that you had Josh? ” Thus, it’s interesting to see how the team would use such an effective strategy to ensure that the rival team couldn’t understand their plays. While the fans were interested in hearing these tactics, it led them to wonder if Brady could step into the field and have his own code words if he ever decides to coach in the NFL himself.

Will Tom Brady ever return to the NFL as a coach?

As of now, Brady wishes to stay away from the NFL as far as possible. When asked about a potential return, Brady refuted the rumors and said, “Coaching wouldn’t be for me. No, certainly not. I like playing. I wouldn’t be a good coach. I don’t have the patience to be a coach.” Brady’s very well a future Hall of Famer but it doesn’t seem like a return is on the cards soon as he seems to be enjoying the finer things in life.

Despite being away from his football career, Brady has been known to be a mentor to Shedeur Sanders, the QB for the Colorado Buffaloes, both on and off the field. He keeps up with the game and releases episodes weekly on his podcast. Thus, the number 12 jersey will sit in the closet for a long time but Brady himself can’t put away his dire love for the game.
